Overview & Reviews
The Monte Carlo receives only minor changes for the 2003 model year. The base LS model has been upgraded with standard four-wheel disc brakes, traction control and remote keyless entry. Both the LS and SS models sport newly styled wheels, four new exterior colors and the option of adding XM Satellite Radio.
- Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong V6 in SS models.
- Mediocre performance, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

I LOVE THIS CAR!!! - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By TLC - March 23 - 2:00 amI turned in my 1999 Grand Prix at lease end and thought I wanted another one, but since they no longer make the 2-door model I decided to purchase the Monte Carlo...and Im glad I did! I love this car! I went with the SS model with the High Sport Appearance package...it is basically loaded except for the satellite radio (which I dont need anyway)...it is an absolutely beautiful car...Ive caught many people staring!...including myself!!! I cant wait for the nice warm weather to come back again so I can really show it off!

love chevys - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By tygable - March 12 - 3:56 amThe car was bought used @ 5 years old but 1 think it may be bad luck. Front brake rotors were shot needed replaced. Front windshield got cracked, then two weeks later a Toyota rear ended me. Although it totaled the Toyota all my car needed was a little buffing compound. Overall the car has been pretty reliable. Gets 31 mpg on highway, 22 city. Not bad for a v-6.

Chevrolet? - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Quatermain98526 - March 2 - 10:33 pmI was on my way home from work when I stopped by the dealer to check out some cars. The Monte Carlo SS with 50K on it for only 9 grand blew me away, I bought it inside an hour. I also test drove an 03 Mustang LX and a 99 Camaro Z28, this car almost compares to the Camaro, and its only a V6! with 100 HP less! The style of the car, and the SS trim is very very attractive. The car is spacious and comfortable inside, and the engine is very responsive, very touchy, I love it. Handling for a front wheel drive car is better than I predicted.

Great Car!!! - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By 02monteSS - November 4 - 2:00 amI love this car! Its a dark blue SS and I have 13000 miles on it. Gas mileage is great (average over 26 mpg), the interior is just perfect, both fit and finish and design, the 3800 is an increadible engine (great torque curve and reliablity).

Great Car - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Dan - June 5 - 8:06 pmThe power plant could be more powerful, but Chevy has addressed this in new models. Great build quality, have owed car for 2 years 3 months, not one problem. Very reliable, looks great, drives well, gets a lot of looks. Highly recommend it.

All Around Very Good Performer - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By James Tiller - June 5 - 3:06 amDont let the snobbish reviewers sway you about the exterior styling. This is not a cookie-cutter car for conformists. It was designed to look different than regular commuter-cars, and i think its features are very distinctive and memorable. Very good performance from FWD 3.8 litre V6. A great engine, great transmission, and great handling/suspension characteristics. If you miss 1960s/early 1970s sporty/luxury 2- door coupes, then this car may be for you. And keep in mind, this car produces more horsepower than any production Monte since 1974, when they still put had the big-block as an option. I recomend this car for those who want to live a little, and still have a sense of practicality!
